  • Pros: I love this manhwa's slow-burn romance between Yuder and Kishiar. Although there is no romance between them right now, I appreciate the root of their developing relationship. For their current relationship in the manhwa, it makes sense that there are explicit scenes between them, as the only ones we get to see are Yuder's flashbacks with Kishiar, and none of them happen during the current timeline. Also, I like how they tackle the secondary gender or the omegaverse by displaying the discrimination between alphas and omegas and showing how people would view the gender prior to it having a significant effect. Usually, I take any manhwa and manga with omegaverse with caution. However, due to how they portrayed that aspect of the story and the lack of focus on this issue, I feel more at ease reading this manhwa while focusing on the plot and characters.

  • Cons: There is little exploration of how magic works, as there were things like healing powers and magic swords before the Red Stone fell onto their land. Hopefully, in the future, they explore the previous power system and go more in-depth about why people get their specific powers. Another con that hopefully gets explored later is Gakane's struggles, which so far haven't shown up yet. We have already witnessed Kanna's backstory and how it held her back, but not much on Gakane's part. My cons are that some information about worldbuilding is being left out. Let us hope some parts of the story get more attention as time passes so that new manhwa chapters can be posted.

Regression Mechanism:

Yuder went back in time 11 years ago in a one-time regression after he got executed for being accused of multiple crimes.

At this moment, there is no confirmation of how Yuder went back in time. Yuder does not believe that gods or magic are involved with his regression, as there is no record of anyone going back in time.

Yuder thinking why gods are not likely to bee the cause of his regression (ch 2)

Yuder realizes that he regressed when he was in his inn room on the day he left home and came to the capital to be hired into the Arcane Legion, a group of people who have gained superpowers from the Red Stone.

Regressor Analysis:

In the previous timeline, Yuder, or Yudrein Ail, was the captain of the Arcane Legion before he was accused of all the crimes that led to his execution. His original goal was to serve the empire and serve for a more significant cause. But after hearing all the accusations against him and realizing that he now has a second chance, Yuder wants to find out what causes future disasters and do what he can to prevent them from ever happening. Yuder realizes that to prevent such disasters, and he needs people willing to listen to and help him, so he sets an objective to rise in status and power to achieve this goal. Alongside saving as many lives as possible, he wants to learn more about who is behind the crimes he was accused of, know why Kishiar lets Yuder kill him, and prevent the Red Stone from getting into the wrong hands at all costs.

Yuder (ch 15)

Yuder's achievements during his regression include getting the red stone from its crashing site. Yuder did this by figuring out how to carry the stone without touching it since the red stone can hurt people. Before the day of retrieving the Red Stone, Yuder uses his powers to mimic a scenario of how the group can remove the Red Stone from its spot by using the rock as the substitute for the Red Stone and using the ice to cage in the rock. This plan was later used to have the Red Stone dug up from its resting place and put in the box. It should also be noted that because Yuder and Kishiar are getting closer, Yuder can convince Kishiar to hold onto the Red Stone for longer to investigate and prevent it from getting its hands on corrupted figures in the Orr Empire. Speaking of a close relationship with Kishiar, Yuder can demonstrate his ability to be a great fighter and protect Kishiar during an ambush for the Red Stone. They are able to find out about the corruption within the empire, which, with both achievements of displaying outstanding leadership, fighting powers, thinking of a solution for the stone, and being observant about the changes in the world, less Yuder becoming Kishiar's aide.

Yuder formulating a plan to retrieve the Red Stone (ch 24)

Even before Yuder enters the Arcane Legion, he barely interacts with other people. However, in the new timeline, he takes the initiative to interact with people he never did so in his previous life and is willing to accept invitations to social gatherings. He also stands up for his teammates when many royal guards make fun of the Arcane Legion and try to bully the group out of the training grounds. It is noted in Yuder's previous timeline that because Yuder barely socializes with anyone, having little to no allies, and only focus on training, people viewed him as an outsider from his status as a commoner, omega, being the commander of the Arcane Legion, and his scary appearance. This lack of socializing hinders Yuder when he tries to warn people of the dangers of the Red Stone and other conspiracies. However, no one bats an eye to his warning. However, now that he has formed a strong bond with his allies, Gakane and Kanna, from training them to helping out with any personal issues they have, While Yuder is doing much better with initiating relationships, there are moments where he still needs to work on not thinking about the consequences of some of his actions. For example, Yuder has a hand injury, which worsens when using his powers. Kishiar scolds Yuder for being careless and not reaching out for help. There was also a scene where Kishiar points out that Yuder being very secretive and rejecting offers only makes Kishiar himself unable to trust Yuder, which brings up the point of possible future consequences to Yuder if he is not being careful of his actions and how it affects the people around him.

Yuder going to a party (ch 14)

With relationships, the one that is more sought out in the manhwa is the relationship with the story's love interest, Kishiar la Orr, the previous commander of the Arcane Legion. In the previous timeline, they barely interacted with each other until Yuder later rose in rank. At some point in the previous timeline, Yuder and Kishiar had sex together due to the secondary gender's pheromones' effects on one craving for sexual intimacy. Yuder was indeed the one who killed Kishiar in the previous timeline. However, Kishiar let Yuder kill him at that time for reasons Yuder believed to be by interacting with the Red Stone. However, since Yuder made a great impression during the interview, Kishiar has shown much more interest in interacting with Yuder. I noticed that Kishiar invites Yuder more often to talk as Kishiar notices how bold and fearless Yuder is when confronted by the Royal Guards and is very observant when noticing the Blade of Orr in Kishiar's office. Kishiar is shown to be concerned for Yuder's well-being when he sees Yuder's hand injury, so Kishiar offers to at least heal as much as he can for Yuder. When Yuder is not around, we hear Kishiar talking to his loyal deputy, Nathan Zuckermann, about their opinions on Yuder. They, especially Kishiar, find Yuder to be a fascinating person as, despite having a transparent background, he shows great skill as a fighter, and Yuder possibly has a mysterious motive for his actions. While Nathan seems concerned for Kishiar's safety around Yuder, Kishiar is more intrigued and wants to get closer to Yuder.

Evaluation on Regression:

The story uses regression well because it gives Yuder a reason not to give up on his past timeline and to try to make reasonable changes in the current one. Regression also gives Yuder a chance to get some of his questions answered about the stone, Kishiar's circumstances, and the bigger plot related to the Red Stone.

Final Thoughts:

I recommend this manhwa because of Yuder's character growth and slow-burn romance. It is not just the romance but also the friendly relationship he builds with his Arcane Legion teammates and learning more about them. Also, let us not forget that Yuder keeps growing as a person.

Since this manhwa is still in the works, I hope there is an actual explanation for whyYuder was able to regress. I also want to see how Yuder and Kishiar's romance blossoms. I hope the manhwa dives into the character development of Kanna and Gakane, as they are Yuder's new closest friends. They help Yuder become more engaged and socialize with others around him.
